One of the most common types of locks found. Many were made with special names and/or pictures on them in order to qualify for a design patent. With a design patent issued, a competitor could not use the same name or picture. Most all of the locks with pictures on them have become known as "Poor man Story Locks". Many copies of these locks have not survived the elements and wartime metal drives and their rarity is reflected in the price they command.
